Terms of Service

Last updated: August 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Nock iOS app and any related website. Contact: support@thenockapp.com. By using Nock, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Use of Nock

You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age where you live). Nock is a personal tool for reviewing a resume and cover letter against a job posting. It is not an employer, recruiter, or legal or career advice. Scores and generated text are drafts and estimates only. You are responsible for anything you send to employers.

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app as allowed by the App Store. You do not own the app or our branding. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or use Nock to build a competing product, except where the law forbids that restriction.

Your content

You keep ownership of your documents. We process them on your device and send them to a third party only when you request a feature that requires it (for example, your chosen AI provider). You must have the rights to materials you add.

AI keys

Some features need an API key you supply. Requests go to that provider, not to a Nock document server. You pay the provider and must follow their terms. Generated text can be wrong; review it before you use it.

Free use, ads, and Nock Pro

Free use may include limits and rewarded ads. Nock Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. It removes ads and raises those limits, as shown at purchase.

Apple auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple. Use Restore Purchase if you already subscribed.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Disclaimers

The services are provided as is. We do not warrant scores, hiring outcomes, or uninterrupted service.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost jobs or data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Nock Pro in the prior 12 months, or US $10, whichever is greater. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

Other

Apple is not a party to this contract, except as a third-party beneficiary of the usual App Store terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law cannot be waived.

We may change these terms. Continued use after the update means you accept them. Questions: support@thenockapp.com.
